Carl H. Ludolph
QUINCY -- Carl H. Ludolph, 87, of Quincy, formerly of Freeport, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at the V.A. Home in Quincy.
He was born Nov. 7, 1914, in Freeport, the son of Karl and Florence (Risshel) Ludolph.
On July 20, 1940, he married June Knodle in Dubuque. She preceded him in death in the early 1980s.
He served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 20, 1943, until Dec. 30, 1945. He was stationed in Italy during World War II where he was awarded the purple Heart. After retiring from the service he moved to Waterloo, Iowa, and was employed by Carnation Milk Company for more than 25 years.He was the last surviving member of his family. His parents, wife and six brothers, Woodrow, Kenneth, Harold, Fritz, Lloyd and Robert, preceded him in death.Cremation rites were accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
