Thomas Dalton, 67, of 4214 26th Ave., Moline, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 1994, at Pathway Hospice Unit, Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Burial is in the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation. Mr. Dalton was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Universal, Ind., the son of William and LouStella Carson Dalton. He married Shirley Wolfe Sept. 30, 1993, in Rock Island. He had been employed as a supervisor at former International Harvester Co., Farmall Plant, Rock Island for 38 years, retiring in 1981. He was also the Sixth Ward Alderman for Moline from 1977-1981. After retirement, he then worked as head of security for the Quad-City Downs for 10 years, until 1991. He was active in First Christian Church, East Moline, Moline Dad's Club, was a girls softball coach and coached the Quad-City Downs Ball Club, and a member of Farmall Retirees Local 1309, and Masonic Lodge 969 AF & AM, East Moline. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a die hard Cub fan and enjoyed all sports. He attended Randy Hundley Cub Fantasy Camp at the Cubs training facility in Mesa (Arizona). Survivors include the widow; daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Stephen Lester, Coal Valley, Jan Thomas, Rock Island, and Peggy and Mark Dahl, Menasha, Wis.; a son, Thomas P. Dalton, Moline; six grandchildren; sisters, Vernice Gossar and Mary Ferris, both of Danville, Ill., and Margaret Cirey, Terre Haute, Ind., and several nieces and nephews."
