OBITUARY: "EUGENE 'WEENIE' DONNELLY
Services for Eugene B. "Weenie" Donnelly, 73, of 1869 23rd Ave., Moline, are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Private burial will follow.
Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
Mr. Donnelly died Thursday, Feb. 24, 1994, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline.
He was born May 16, 1920, in Moline, the son of Thomas and Helga Bloom Donnelly. He married Dolores Killion June 12, 1942, in Moline.
He was employed for 42 years as an electrician and was a member of IBEW 145, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Rock Island, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Moline Elks; Moline Vikings; Moline American Legion Post 246; and IBEW 145, Rock Island.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the Seebees. He enjoyed golf and playing cards.
Survivors include the widow, sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Eileen Donnelly, Moline, and Kurt and Nancy Donnelly, East Moline; three grandchildren; and sisters, Erma Zuccarello, Moline, and Margaret Lambert, East Moline. A son, Thomas Donnelly, died in June 1993."
NOTE: Burial was in the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island County, Illinois, USA in Plot: H-126. Dolores passed away in c.2005, and is buried with Eugene.
