John N. Jack
John N. Jack was born Jan 25, 1860, in New Boston, and passed away at 5:20 o'clock Sunday evening, Nov. 6, 1937, in his home in Rock Island, where he has resided for 37 years. Mr. Jack died of complications after an illness of three months. He was married to Miss Laura Fuller in New Boston, Nov. 1, 1884. The couple moved to Rock Island in 1900. Mrs. Jack preceded him in death in September, 1932. He retired in July this year after following the trade of plasterer for 50 years. Surviving are a brother, Silas, LeClaire, Ia.; a sister, Miss Fannie Jack, Denver, Colo.; four sons, Carl of St. Louis; Freemont, Cecil and Everett, all of Rock Island; four daughters, Hessie McNall, of New Boston; Myrtle Miller, Millersburg; Stella Hilligoss, Galesburg and Leona Johnston, Chicago; 29 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in rock Island at the Hodgson Mortuary Chapel. Rev. H.R. Ford, pastor of Memorial church, Rock Island, officiated.
