Frank Gray died Saturday
Frank (Dolly) Gray of 408 North B Street, died Saturday at 2:50 p.m. at Monmouth hospital. The youngest of 11 children born to Oliver P. and Judy (Whitaker) Gray, Mr. Gray was born June 4, 1875, northeast of Keithsburg.  He grew to manhood on the farm home, and was graduated from Keithsburg High school. His marriage to Sarah Winebrenner took place at her home in Keithsburg, February 15, 1899.  Two children were born to them, Helen Julia Pierson, who died in April of 1929, and a son, Col. Milo I. Gray of Ft. McArthur, Calif. In 1901, the Gray family moved from Keithsburg to Monmouth, where Mr. Gray was employed by the Iowa Central Railroad (now the M. and St.L.). He was a motorman on the Rock Island Southern R.R.for a number of years, and while he was employed by this railroad, he was in an accident and lost his right foot.  For more than 20 years, Mr. Gray worked at the Phillips 66 Service Station on West Broadway. He is survived by his wife, his son in California, two grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren as well as a sister, Mrs. George Stephens of Keithsburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.  Besides his daughter, Mr. Gray was preceded in death by a grandson, Jack Pierson, who was killed in service in 1951.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Holliday and Hoover Memorial Chapel in charge of Harold Andrews of Alexis.  Burial will take place in the Green Mound cemetery at Keithsburg.  Friends may call at the Chapel.
