Thirty-fourth avenue, Rock Island, died suddenly at 12:10 p.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's hospital where he had been admitted three hours before. Born March 1, 1890, at Davenport, he was a son of George and Lotte Covey. He attended the Danville, Ia., schools and Iowa State College, wehre he received his degree in mechanical engineering. For the past 29 years he had been employed as a welder at the Silvis Shops of the Rock Island Lines. Mr. Covey married Amanlie Knudsen in Cedar Rapids, Ia., June 27, 1917. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, two daughters: Mrs. Jean Wolverton, Rock Island, and Mrs. Elinor Kettering, East Moline; a son, Richard G. Covey, Moline, and four grandchildren. The body is at the Hodgson Funeral Home where friends may call after 1 this afternoon. The Rev. Donald H Gibbs will conduct services Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park.
