LUCAS ⁄ LIPTON ⁄ BLAKELY ⁄ JOHNSTON
In the Preemption, Mercer County, Illinois area, I would like to know if anyone out there has any information on these families, all of whom came over from Enniskillen, Fremanagh, Ireland around 1847.
Since I last posted my family Legend⁄Lore on these pages I have found a few cousins, visited the graveyard in Preemption and finally figured out some of the mysteries and inaccuracies, and "stretchers" in our history. I would especially like to hear from any Lucas descendants. My GGGgrandmother and her sister were Isabella and Alice Lucas. Isabella Lucas married Johnston Lipton. Alice Lucas married Matthew Blakely. Evidently the Blakelys both died and Isabella and her husband brought the Blakely's 5 children to the US along with their only daughter, who was also named Alice. This Alice Lipton married Robert T. Johnston. So far this is all I know about the Lucases. If there are any descendants out there who can shed any light please contact me. I would also like to hear from any other likely relatives email@example.com
